Relaunching Delays and Salute 2011 Issues

The observant amongst you will notice that January has come and gone and my web store has not reopened as promised.

My laser cutting supplier is having significant delays due to other work pressures and is unable to give me a delivery time either for existing stock or prototypes of the new models. This situation has been ongoing since early December with a number of missed promises, and I see no reason for it to change anytime soon.

I need a few weeks to get prototype models and build them to make any changes for the production models, write the assembly instructions, paint photograph etc.

I also need these kits made to go on the board for Salute 2011 otherwise I will be letting down Mike Thorp of Twilight Miniatures as I am providing the board for his demonstration game. I am getting very close to being forced to pull out of Salute this year, which is incredibly frustrating.

I have hunted high and low for any other supplier that could undertake this work but drawn a complete blank - most small outfits wont cut styrene as they don't have the correct extraction and ventilation. Whereas the costs of the big industrial guys are orders of magnitude higher as i'm using a tiny tiny portion of their capacity.

If anyone knows of any reasonably priced company offering laser cutting services in the model making industry then please let me know.

  1. Boo! Slap them with a wet herring! I've recently renewed my interest in mini-painting and have been drooling over your lovely kits this afternoon. Hope you get things sorted out soon. :)

  2. Try Oshiro models (Jimbibbly on LAF). He should at least be able to get your prototypes cut so you can test them.

  3. Thank you for the positive comments ammie-warrior and welcome aboard. Thanks also Dewbakuk I've contacted Jim!
